SpacesThe ways we hold and strengthen the integrity of ourselves and others in community life is one of the great challenges of our time. I am committed to trauma informed space-holding that affirms individual and community life.
❋ Moya Intentional LivingMoya is an intentional living community located in the Blue Ridge mountains in North Carolina. We center practices that deepen our connection to the ground of our own being through purposeful relationship with community and the natural world.
❋ MindfulnessWithout mindfulness, staying centered in our own experience as we relate to the outer world becomes difficult.
My experience leading meditation and introducing basic spiritual principles as the coordinator of the Padmasambhava Buddhist Center of Chicago provided me with the opportunity to regularly hold space for new and experienced practitioners.
It was here that I honed my ability to meet what emerges as thoughtful conversation and practice produces new insights and challenges within a person and community.
❋ Speak Up ChicagoSpeak Up Chicago was a youth-led open mic event that blossomed into an intergenerational group committed to that served as an antidote to the violence affecting youth in Chicago.
This was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life, and it forged life-long bonds. Here, I learned the importance of trauma informed space-holding and how the principles held within peace circles can transform groups of people from vastly different backgrounds into family.
